IMMIGRATION ATTORNEYS

Removal Defense

Our attorneys have extensive experience in removal defense and have represented clients in complex asylum matters for many years. We handle both affirmative asylum applications before USCIS and defensive asylum cases before the Immigration Courts and Immigration Judges.

We have also successfully represented clients in appeals of asylum denials before the Board of Immigration Appeals (BIA) and in filing Motions to Reopen.

Asylum cases are highly sensitive and legally complex. They require careful preparation, strong legal arguments, and precise evidence to meet the legal standards necessary for approval and, ultimately, lawful permanent residence. Because of the stakes involved, having an experienced immigration attorney to guide and advocate for you throughout the process is essential.

Family Immigration & Consular Practice

We represent clients in adjustment of status applications based on marriage for beneficiaries residing in the U.S., as well as consular processing for beneficiaries applying from their home countries. We also handle all necessary waivers of inadmissibility to help applicants overcome legal obstacles and successfully obtain lawful permanent residence (Green Card).

In addition, we have extensive experience responding to Requests for Evidence (RFEs) and Notices of Intent to Deny (NOIDs), preparing strong, well-documented responses to protect and strengthen our clients’ cases.

Removal Defense and Bond Representation for Detained Individuals

Our office also represents clients in removal defense and bond proceedings for individuals in immigration detention. We have successfully handled bond hearings before Immigration Courts in multiple states across the country.

We understand how difficult and stressful it can be to have a loved one in immigration detention. Our experienced attorneys guide families through every step of the process, maintain clear communication, and prepare strong legal arguments to seek the release of the detained individual on bond.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Questions & Answer

What types of cases do we handle?
At the Immigration Law Office of Lizary Mendoza, P.C., our practice is exclusively dedicated to U.S. immigration and nationality law. We represent clients before the Immigration Court, USCIS, the BIA, and in consular processes. Our services include:

Removal Defense & Appeals: Representation in deportation proceedings, bond hearings, BIA appeals, and motions to reopen prior orders.

Family-Based Residency: Adjustment of status (Green Cards), family petitions (spouses, children, parents), and consular processing from abroad.

Humanitarian & Special Relief: Affirmative and defensive asylum, VAWA cases, U Visas, DACA renewals, and Military Parole in Place (PIP).

Procedural & Strategic Support: Citizenship and naturalization, work permits, waivers (inadmissibility/unlawful presence), and responses to RFEs (Request for Evidence) or NOIDs (Notice of Intent to Deny).

Every case is unique. We conduct a thorough evaluation of each client's immigration history and potential risks to design a personalized legal strategy.
Where are your offices located and in which states do you take cases?
Our main office is located in the state of California. Additionally, we have an office in New Jersey, where we provide services in affiliation with a New Jersey-licensed attorney, to whom we refer any state law matters while we exclusively handle immigration affairs.

Attorney Lizary Mendoza is admitted to practice law in the state of California and the Dominican Republic. Because immigration law is federal law, we can represent clients in immigration matters throughout the entire United States.

Immigration cases—including proceedings before the Immigration Court, USCIS, and the BIA—are governed by federal laws, not state laws. For this reason, an attorney with a valid license in any state can represent clients in immigration matters nationwide, regardless of the state where the client resides.

Our clients are located all over the U.S., including but not limited to: New York, Texas, California, Maryland, Delaware, Tennessee, Louisiana, Kentucky, New Jersey, and others.

Many immigration processes are handled electronically or before federal agencies, allowing us to provide effective representation regardless of the client's physical location. If you reside in another state, we can evaluate your case and determine the best strategy under federal immigration law.
What Differentiates Us from Other Immigration Attorneys?
Exclusive Practice in Immigration and Nationality: Our office is dedicated solely to immigration and nationality matters. We do not practice other areas of law. This allows us to stay focused, updated, and strategically prepared in one of the most complex areas of federal law.

Experience in Court and USCIS Cases: We represent clients in proceedings before the Immigration Court, BIA appeals, USCIS filings, and consular processes. We understand how these processes interact and develop comprehensive strategies rather than isolated solutions.

Strategic Approach, Not Just Paperwork: We do not treat cases as simple forms. We analyze the client’s full history—entry method, background, family petitions, inadmissibility risks, and potential waivers—to design a solid, personalized legal strategy.

Handling of Complex Cases: We work with situations that others often find difficult: prior deportation orders, criminal records, NOIDs, RFEs, complicated consular processes, Military PIP, DACA renewals, and more. We evaluate every detail before acting.

Meticulous Evidence Preparation: We build cases with strategic documentation, detailed statements, and well-founded legal arguments, whether before a judge, USCIS, or the BIA.

Rapid Response in Critical Moments: We understand that a detention or a Notice of Intent to Deny (NOID) can be an emergency. We act with urgency, organization, and clarity.

Clear and Honest Communication: We explain real risks, options, and expectations. We do not make impossible promises; we offer legal guidance based on the law and experience.

Commitment to Families: We know that behind every case is a family, financial stability, and a future. We don’t just manage files; we defend life projects.
How much does it cost to hire your services for a bond or other immigration services?
The cost depends on the complexity of the case and the stage of the process. During the consultation, we evaluate the strategy and clearly explain the fees.
